The much hyped and much talked World Cup is almost over for most of the cricket fans in India with the sudden and unpardonable exit of Indian Cricket Team from the mega tournament...I know its painful for us to digest the FACT that Indian Cricket Team which left for West Indies with most pomp and show is now back within a month!!But beyond WC 07 lets do some reality check...
Now, I am not trying to pose that i am not hurt by the humiliating defeat,but guys lets be practical.Lets see it as a GAME and not as a religion.The out ragious outburst was very well expected form the ardent fans but what took me by surprise is the volume of the outburst.Hmmm...may be it because of the mega event or may be it is because Indian Team lost to teams like Bangladesh and Sri Lanka...Well anyway i am not here to analyse the reasons for the outburst......
So,coming back to the point I think we should hang ourselves for the way we treat our 'glamours' cricketers...Now they all are humans and are prone to failure like everyone of us.Frankly its sheer madness to expect too much from them.They say why cant a country of billion people produce a world class team?But how many of us do encourage our children to take up sports as their career?We want them to make it big in professional courses right??Whenever I see such behaviour of the desperate fans...i often wonder had we been reacting the same way each time our Government failed to deliver something which we needed,India now would have been counted among those developed countries which we look upon!!
Lets be sportive and feel proud that Indian Cricket Team scored the highest ever runs in the WC history...Lets pat them and say "tough luck this time guys but better luck next time".Lets make them feel that they are men in blue and not men in blues.....
And finally lets not say India lost...Indian Cricket Team may lose but not India...
