THE FIRST OF EVERY THING!!!!!!
It was a cool evening. The previous night showers have come as a boon for us from the scorching summer heat….the monsoon was just around…the evening came and came the children…they came like flock of birds and like running waters with huge smiles. Their laughs and chuckles filled the air…
I was standing in the balcony of my room sipping hot coffee...Ah!!Is this what they call heaven! I felt….my room looks over the park where the kids were playing…I watched them for a long time…they were playing, playing and were lost in their own world..Really!!Childhood is such bliss…just as I was watching them my eye caught a little girl. She was around 6 years-short, fair and lean…she had pretty tomboyish look. She seemed to be scared and her mom was next to her explaining her something.
Then slowly with an apprehensive look she got on to her bicycle. she asked her mom not to leave her bicycle as she was riding…she was riding and her mom was running behind her…slowly her mom released her hands…..the girl did not realize that….when she did she also realized that she learnt to ride a bicycle!!!!!Her happiness knew no bounds…
All this reminded me of my own childhood…the first time I learnt how to ride a bicycle with the help of my sister….on that day my happiness was infinity…I felt as if I have conquered the world!!!!!!
Really! The first of every thing is such a sweet memory!!!!!!
Just think about the first time u spoke, the struggle you must have undergone to utter a four letter word'Amma’…..the first steps….the first tooth you got…the first milk tooth that had fallen…the first day at school when you cried a lot as your parents parted….the first drawing which you drew and when you became a M.F.Hussain for your friends….the first time you stood first in the class…the first time you were appointed as your class monitor…the first crush….. The first kiss…the first card you received from your boyfriend/girlfriend…the first day at college….. the first time you won an inter college competition…the first time when someone rejected your love proposal…the first time you got a job…the first time you got your salary….the first thing you bought with your hard earned money…the first promotion you got at the office….the first time you become a mother/father…the first words which your kids speak….
Ah!!!!!that drives you nostalgic right? I know ,most of our childhood things we may not remember…but I must say… I am lucky enough….my mom has got the collection of all my first things… :) Right from my first tooth that had fallen!!!!
