Symptoms of cell phone addiction..
- You want your cell to be right in front of you 24*7.
- Your thumb is always on the keypad of your cell meddling with it.
- You want it to ring atleast once in an hour[if it doesnt then you dont mind giving a missed call too(height!!!)].
- Look at your cell for every 10 mins to check if you have got some message.
- Go crazy and get paralysed if you dont find your cell phone for sometime.
When Martin Cooper invented mobile phone little did he know that in coming years his invention would lead to the addiction of thousands across the globe. Some would be amazing happy at his invention and would be thanking him every moment while equal number of people would be cursing him too. And i have no regrets in saying that am one among them too.
Agreed 100% that cell phones do bring the world close and help to track the people down but did someone think about the lost of privacy??After a real tiring day,you come home and immediately fall on the bed, when your cell goes high with the newly downloaded ring-tone(the most irritating music for your ears right now). Its your boss asking you to report early tomorrow in office. You feel you should have been blissfully deaf at that time!.Imagine this--You settle in a comfortable place with good view of the outside world in your fav restraunt, lost thinking about your pet topic or you are completely engrossed in an Agatha Christie's thriller. Then this cell screams louder and louder again and again.Your startled and turn around to find that it was of an orange headed guy who had this sudden thoughts of oh-i -want-to-checkout-all -the-ring-tones-present-in-my-cell-right-now..Errrrrrr.....you feel like screaming at the top of your voice so that it could be heard till the end of this planet earth. And how irritating can it be when your friend cuts the most important conversation with you only to attend his call and end up spending some good 20 mins with that damn thing?
Then there is this flood of offers given by various networks..this makes sure that every person has got a cell of his own irrespective of its usage. The day is not very far when we may have to say 'roti, kapda, makaan aur cell'..With the advent of hands free sets things have become worse. You think two people have been talking until you realise that they are lost in their own worlds minding their own work and talking over their hands free mikes. How often would you pity a person, talking to himself ,only to your surprise that he has been talking over his mike?
Just imagine the world where all the cell phones go silent for a day!It would be a complete bliss!!at least for me!!Common, people can actually do things well themselves without you!!Well all said and done.On one hand cell phones have brought us close and made the whole world a small village but at the same time they took away our privacy too!!
God!! where is my cell?????
