Today we are celebrating 61st Independence Day. Independence after 200 years of British rule…after lots of ‘balidaan’…but that’s yesterday!! Today though we claim to be a free country, but are we actually??...We are the largest democracy... We have the brains which other would envy, but still what have we achieved in this 61 years??...not that we are the same from then. Yes, we did develop…We are the emerging super power. But at the same time the negatives have also gone high...There is still poverty ,there is still unemployment and the basic needs are totally out of the reach of common man.
And the biggest thing ‘Terrorism’...Today we are celebrating Independence Day but in a covered blanket of fear! We do not know, when there would be a bomb blast. We fear to go out when there is an occasion...We fear when there is a crowd. Parents want us to stay back home on this day cos of ‘safety’. What is the use of celebrating when we are not secured about our living!
A couple of days back, I had a discussion with one of my friends about the ways of showing patriotism…One of our lecturers asked us to show patriotism by coming to college on Aug 15. We were wondering if that the only way of showing our patriotism. Our point of patriotism is different… I would do my duties as a citizen properly and sincerely and that would be my way of showing patriotism…What’s the use when I sing the National anthem and take bribe the very day? Would I be called a patriot?
Ever since I was kid I have always heard this “India is a ‘developing’ country”. How long would it take!!...when will that tag ‘developing’ leave and ‘developed’ come in??? We should stop blaming others and start asking ourselves if we have done of duty properly first?? It should start from each one of us. And yeah, each one CAN make the difference!!
And prolly we should be celebrating our true independence day only when we are sure that no innocent would die in a blast and only when all the hindrances are removed. Freedom from British rule was a dream before but it was made into a reality. Freedom from terrorism might seem a dream today but it will definitely be a reality tomorrow!!

Rain Update!!
Its been 24 hours now and its still raining..and will continue to rain for another 48 hours according to a news channel's weather report.Adding to the already existing traffic vows of hyderabadies the rain has brought the whole traffic in Hyderabad to a total halt for 4 hours yesterday. And there was a total blackout for a long time!!Today's papers were filled with such stories. And i have been lucky enough..i was home yesterday before the rain started. And in the house today. Its cold, its gloomy and its boring!!Well at least there is no power cut here(not even that daily 3 hours' power cut!!)..There is nothing in the house to eat and cant go out to buy..No balance in cell..cant go out to get the recharge done also!!..But voda's got some sense..its got this mini credit thing..that really is helpful..So for now,
Rain rain go away, come again another day!!...(come on Monday so that i dont have to get up early and go to college) and save the humanity from 'am stuck with boredom' kinda posts like this!
Dont spoil our Saturday and Sunday!!(not that i do something really happening on weekends..but still)
Ending on a positive note...there is nothing like sipping hot tea and letting the tip tap of rain hit your chords!! :)...The beauty of Nature is at its best when it rains!! :)
